Hospital admissions

International patients may request a virtual appointment allowing them to avoid unnecessary journeys. Were that the case, they would be able to come to our hospital straight to the diagnostic test, surgery or other treatment, once the budget is approved, and with every part of the process planned and programmed beforehand.

After receiving your appointment request, we will contact you in order to collect all data required and to advise you on the potential treatment options available for your health issue. It is possible to specify as well the name of the doctor you wish to consult. Alternatively, a multidisciplinary team will assess your particular case before making a decision on where to start.

First visit to our hospital

The reception, consulting rooms and the large waiting room for people who come to Fundació Puigvert - Barcelona Private Center, are located in space of its own within the hospital, on the SS.

The Admissions Service offers all the information necessary to guide them during their stay. From then on, we guarantee the confidentiality of their data.

Medical and logistical support

We offer both medical and logistical support during the entire hospital stay to ensure that all steps of the process are carried out without any incident.

Not only we offer ambulance service, but we provide cab transportation as well, in case you need to undergo any tests in another health center.

Hospitalization and hospital stay

The Fundació Puigvert - Barcelona Private Center has spacious and comfortable facilities to meet the needs both of patients and their families or companions.

The hospitalization floor (nr. 4) also has common rooms for family members and companions, with a coffee machine in the living room.

Private rooms

At Fundació Puigvert - Barcelona Private Center, every room hosts a single patient, with separate areas for the patient and for his or her companion, for further rest, privacy and autonomy for both.

They have a sofa bed for the accompanying person, telephone, private WIFI network and television (43" 4K interactive SmartTV with DTT, international channels, soccer and video on demand VOD).

Rest and safety

The beds in the rooms at Fundació Puigvert - Barcelona Private Center are equipped with an easy-to-use electric movement control system and a nurse call/warning system located at the head of the bed.

Private and adapted bathroom

All rooms at Fundació Puigvert - Barcelona Private Center have their own bathroom with adapted shower, to offer the greatest comfort, safety and privacy to our patients. With towels made of high quality cotton that we wash right here.

High-quality diet

Our dietitians make daily follow-up visits to the patients in Fundació Puigvert - BCP.

We have a high level chef with international experience and exclusive dedication to Fundació Puigvert patients.

Our breakfast, lunch and dinner service is delivered in the rooms with an on-demand display cart for patients (adapted to their diet) and companions. Additionally, room service offers in-room catering extras on demand.

Highest ratio of specialized care

We have the highest ratio of Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) specialists per number of inpatient beds and per number of nursing professionals among all hospitals in Barcelona.

Our Nursing team represents about 50% of our talent. Thanks to their specialization and experience, we offer a patient-centric approach to healthcare, while strengthening their safety, quality and expertise.

Expertise and clinical excellence

At Fundació Puigvert we have more than 60 years of experience in urology, nephrology, andrology and reproductive medicine. Since we receive the largest number of patients with urogenital and kidney pathologies, our staff of professionals is highly specialized and experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of such diseases, even the less frequent ones.

We attend more than 100,000 medical consultations and perform about 6,000 surgeries, almost 200 with robotic surgery and more than 100 kidney transplants every year.

Monographic and supra-specialized hospital

With a team of 700 professionals, our more than twenty specialized units focus on different techniques and aspects of health within our specialties: robotic surgery, renal transplantation, kidney stones, urinary incontinence, chronic kidney disease and dialysis, fertility preservation, erectile dysfunction, rare renal diseases and pediatric urology, among others.

Moreover, we have our own specialized laboratories and participate in different research projects.

Fundació Puigvert has been and remains a pioneer in:

Non-Profit

We are a non-profit, privately managed university hospital. We reinvest all our surplus resources in improving care for our patients, technological equipment, research and training of medical and nursing professionals. In this sense, despite having an agreement with the Health Department of the Catalan regional government (Generalitat de Catalunya) to provide public care, grants and donations from civil society are yet essential for the progress of medicine, the improvement of infrastructures and equipment, and the training of specialists.

Patient-oriented

In addition to the support and follow-up we provide to our patients, both remotely and in person, the Fundació Puigvert organizes conferences and workshops for patients and their families aimed at informing them and easing their task of living with certain pathologies and limiting dysfunctions. We also elaborate and disseminate educational materials to help people to understand and deal with their disease.
